Black Rose was opened on Horsham’s East Street in August 2018 by Joseph Stevens, a lifelong Horsham resident with a strong passion for hair and high level of service. 5years were spent working in the hair industry travelling around the country working and training with some of the top barbers in the industry with the goal to bring a high level barbering service to Horsham town centre.

We pride ourselves on taking the time required to provide you with a bespoke haircut experience in a creative and modern environment. Service, care and precision are the 3 values at the foundation of what we aim to provide for all that walk through our door.

It has been a long goal of mine to open up a business in the town that I have grown up in, especially in an industry that I am incredibly passionate about. I have been cutting men’s hair since 2013, with a keen goal to combine the traditional service-driven experience of old school barbershops, with more modern techniques and skill-sets. We provide a contemporary and relaxed environment in which people can take a moment away from their busy lives and take a breath.

Reginald is an integral part of who we are at Black Rose, a true lover of all people. He is an original founding member, long may he reign in his kingdom within East Street of Horsham’s town centre.

After 10 years of working as a chef in restaurants in Ireland, Australia and England I decided to trade my knives for clippers and embark on a more rewarding career. Learning the tricks and techniques of the trade, as well as adopting Joe’s attitude towards providing a service tailored to everyone who comes through the door, has been a very valuable and worthwhile journey so far.
